The main production of 44Ti has been worked on at national isotope production facilities, but radionuclide generators allow for distribution of 44Ti to research sites and ultimately medical facilities to produce the desired 44Sc product on-site for direct use. Several labs have been developing 44Ti/44Sc generator systems, but there is no wholly superior option as each has drawbacks so far. Our system uses a simple, scalable resin for the column and so far has shown consistent results over all the periods of time we have tested it without seeing degradation over time which most other systems show.
