IDEA #18YHQL Precoder for a Multiple-Input Multiple-Output Communication Systems with Decentralized Receivers

High capacity wireless data networks will increasingly use multiple transmit and receive antennas, as a method of increasing network capacity. Modern wireless systems are evolving to make use of the cloud computing paradigm, whereby electromagnetic signals are collected at remote radio heads (RRHs), and then transmitted over reliable wired or optical links to a central processing facility (CU), where the data is demodulated and decoded. The data rates required between the radio heads and the central processing facility can be very large in high capacity systems. This invention describes methods by which the data rate of communication between the radio head and the central processing unit can be reduced significantly.
