It was previously difficult, expensive, or impossible to determine the conductivity of zinc oxide inside zinc alkaline electrodes. Also, it was previously impossible to prevent the passivation of zinc alkaline electrodes prior to occurrence. This invention allows easy determination of conductivity of zinc oxide in the zinc alkaline electrode, and further allows management of the electrode for higher conductivity therefore giving longer cycle life and greater durability.
