We propose ASSIST, an integrated solution of multimodal assistive indoor navigation using a
smartphone, especially for assisting people with special needs, such as the blind and visually
impaired (BVI) individuals. The solution integrates multimodal data, including floor plans,
beacons, Wi-Fi/cellular connectivity, 2D/3D visual models, and user preferences. The system
consists of three components: hybrid modeling, real-time navigation, and client-server
architecture.
