IDEA #6QCLSJ Non-Foster Antennas and Resonators Beyond Chu's Limit with Floquet Impedance Matching.19A0034

Key Words: Chu’s limt, small antennas, gain-bandwidth product, Floquet systems The invention presents a practical device that breaks the fundamental trade-off between gain and bandwidth for electrically small antennas. The purpose of the invention is to utilize small-size antennas that are usually integrated in small electronics, and increasing its radiation efficiency and bandwidth of operation. Increasing the bandwidth of electrically-small antenna is a fundamental issue for transferring efficiently wireless data. Electrically small antennas are crucial for portable wireless devices, medical equipment, sensors and communication systems, among many other applications. Our concept can also be extended to coupled resonators making up metamaterials and artificial materials, enabling wider bandwidths of operation.
