IDEA #54BN9L Architectural concrete incorporating the waste from fiber reinforced polymer composite materials and construction and demolition waste. 15A0012

Key Words: Waste, end-of-life, Recycled, Construction and Demolition, fiber reinforced polymers, Architectural concrete The main purpose of the invention is to produce architectural surface polished concrete units such as tiles, lintels, mantelpieces, etc. that incorporate (1) waste from fiber reinforced polymer composite materials (both production waste and end of life waste), and (2) building demolition waste, particularly concrete, brick, and ceramic waste. These types of waste add beauty to the surface of concrete and reduces the demand for natural resources required to produce architectural concrete. First, polished architectural units made using the mentioned types of waste are aesthetically unique ; different types of waste have different shapes and colors and when exposed in surrface polished units add beauty to the surface of concrete. Second, the waste materials, instead of being landfilled, are used in upscale architectural products.
