IDEA #6TA0YE Design of a semi precast slab

A semi precast slab of approximately 75 mm thickness comprises a layer of conduits 2 on top of at least two layers of reinforcement 3 and junction boxes 4 disposed along the conduits 2. There may be slots at one or more sides of the slab, the conduits 2 extending at least partially into these slots, and the slots positioned at locations which permit continuity of the conduits 2 between adjacent slabs. The body of the slab may have openings to facilitate communication with junction boxes 4 and conduits 2. A connecting conduit in the slots having lockable and moveable collars may be used to join the slabs. A method of installation wherein further reinforcement 5 and concrete 6 are used on top of the semi precast slab so as to result in a slab of 125 mm thickness is also disclosed.
