SOFTWARE FOR LONG(cid:2)(cid:2)TERM ELECTRICITY GENERATION FORECASTING
Description
One of the main factors of investment efficiency of wind farms
construction projects is wind potential. Due to this it is of
utmost importance to carefully forecast wind based electricity
generation at wind farms. Methodical software for long(cid:2)term
electricity generation forecasting has been suggested for a
specific region, including setting up maps for electricity gener(cid:2)
ation in the region. Innovative Aspects and Main Advantages
• Estimation of territory distribution representativeness as
for wind parameters in the region;
• Upgrading mathematical models and methods for defining
potential electricity production by modern wind turbines due
to data recorded by different devices and different registration
methods;
• Developing methods for electricity generation on the site if
there are any available obstacles to wind flows;
• Creating methods of “wind energy†cartography.

Stage ooff development
The developed methods and being the part of software and
will be implemented for improving quality of adopted decisions
as for wins farms construction on the stage of searching for
adequate wind farm sites.
There have been developed a concept for suggested system,
and necessary calculations for the Crimean peninsular have
been made (picture 1.)
