IDEA #56R8F7 Method For Studying Phase Diagrams Of Binary Alloys

SCIENTIFIC INNOVATIVE PROJECTS FROM MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE AND NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCES OF UKRAINE METHOD FOR STUDYING PHASE DIAGRAMS OF BINARY ALLOYS Description: A new method for building up a phase diagram of binary alloys has been developed. The method uses thin films of variable composition and state which were prepared by vacuum condensation of components. The method devel(cid:28) oped enables one to visualize on a single substrate a com(cid:28) plete or a necessary part of the phase diagram as well as to trace its evolution versus film thickness. Areas of Application: New method is especially effective for visualizing the gen(cid:28) eral outlines of the phase diagrams and enables one to reveal those fine effects which are virtually impossible to detect by ordinary methods.
