RENEWABLE ENERGY AND ENERGY CONSERVATION TECHNOLOGIES FACILITY AND TECHNOLOGIES OF THE BIOGAS UTILIZATION Description Biogas (methane (СН4) and carbon dioxide (CO2) gaseous mixture) is fuel gaseous mixture with СН4 >50%. Using of the biogas is important task for solving problems: ecological – limitation of biogas atmospheric emission, economical – additional energy source. Facility and technologies of the biogas utilization was developed for solving of these tasks. There are 6 separation modules, which work in turns, thus ensuring the continuity of the technological process. Depending on composition of the input biogas and requirements for the end product, facility can consist from all modules or only from one module (separation one). Facility allows to separate biogas into the components: (cid:190) liquefied almost pure methane in standard vessels with volume 40-50 liters under the pressure 20 MPa and with purity 96%; (cid:190) liquid carbon dioxide at the similar vessels under the pressure 5÷6 MPa; (cid:190) solid carbon dioxide (dry ice). Technical parameters of the facility: (cid:190) overall dimensions, mm – 1700x1050x650; (cid:190) productivity in biogas terms – 5 nm3/hour; (cid:190) productivity in CH4 terms – 2,7 nm3/hour at P=0,4MPa; (cid:190) productivity in CO2 terms – 1,8 nm3/hour at P=0,1MPa; (cid:190) admixtures of the other components in the separated methane and carbon dioxide - ~4%; (cid:190) facility weight - ~150 kg. Pressure swing method was used for this work. Method uses different concentrations of the biogas components in the gaseous phase at the upper and lower pressure level in adsorber, that is caused with different adsorbability of the carbon dioxide and methane. When gaseous phase is sampled from the adsorber at the upper pressure level, we obtain mixture enriched with less sorbed component – methane, when it is done at the low pressure level – more sorbed carbon dioxide. Facility block scheme, its general view and motor- generator are shown at the pictures. Innovative Aspects and Main Advantages The main innovative aspects are using of the Pressure Swing Method (PSM). The small cycle duration and process temperature allow making mobile separation facilities. These facilities combined with motor-generator, working at the produced methane, ensure autonomous facility operation. room Fig. 1. (cid:190) Plants of biological purification foul water. (cid:190) Solid domestic waste dumps. In one word anywhere where is organically waste.
