A computing device includes a communication interface for receiving a plurality of signals from a first probe positioned on a first observation plane of a machine component and a second probe that is positioned on a second observation plane of the machine component, wherein the plurality of signals are representative of data from the machine component. A processor coupled to the communication interface is programmed to combine the signals received from the first and second probes to generate a plurality of displacement responses that correspond to a plurality of frequencies of a speed of the machine component. The processor is also programmed to transform the signals to eliminate a plurality of split resonance effects.
